1) What this covers

How we collect, use, and share personal data when you use Idensal’s website and app.

2) Data we collect

  • Account & profile: name, email, handle, phone (optional), trade, bio, service area, business details.

  • Job data: job title, description, photos you upload, general location (e.g., postcode/area).

  • Comms: messages sent in-app; support emails.

  • Device/usage: IP, device type, browser, app diagnostics, cookies/analytics (subject to consent).

  • Marketing prefs: your opt-ins/opt-outs.

3) How we use data & lawful bases

  • Provide the service (create account, show profiles, post jobs, message, prevent abuse). Legal basis: Contract.

  • Improve & secure (analytics, diagnostics, fraud prevention). Legal basis: Legitimate interests.

  • Communicate (service emails, support). Legal basis: Contract/Legitimate interests.

  • Marketing (if you opt in; or “soft opt-in” for similar services to existing users where lawful). Legal basis: Consent/Legitimate interests.

  • Legal compliance (respond to lawful requests). Legal basis: Legal obligation.

  • Essential cookies run without consent.

  • Analytics/marketing cookies only with consent (see Cookie Policy and banner). You can change preferences anytime.

5) Sharing your data

We use vetted processors under contract (hosting, email, analytics, error logging, CDN, map provider). We do not sell personal data.
If required by law, we may share data with authorities.

6) International transfers

If data leaves the UK/EEA, we use lawful safeguards (UK IDTA/ICO Addendum to SCCs). Details available on request.

7) Retention

  • Account data: while active + up to 6 years for legal/accounting purposes.

  • Job posts & messages: while relevant to your account + standard backup period.

  • Marketing data: until you opt out or after reasonable inactivity.
    We periodically review and delete or anonymise data we no longer need.

8) Your rights (UK GDPR)

  • Access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, object to processing.

  • Withdraw consent (where consent is our basis).

  • Complain to the ICO: ico.org.uk.

We use encryption in transit, strong hashing for passwords, access controls, and monitoring. No system is 100% secure; report issues to [hello@idensal.com].

Idensal is for 18+ only. We don’t knowingly collect data from children.
